Answers about onboarding,
processing and more.
Everything you need to know about our services, processes, and how to get started.
Onboarding
What documents are required for KYB verification?
As a regulated financial institution licensed and supervised by the Bank of Lithuania, we are required to verify each business before account activation. Typically, we request company registration documents, proof of registered address, ownership and control structure, identification documents for directors and beneficial owners, and information about your business model, website, expected volumes, and payment flows. Additional documents may be requested depending on your industry, jurisdiction, and risk profile.
How long does the account opening process take?
The review timeline depends on the complexity of the business and how quickly the required information is provided. In most cases, once all documents are submitted, the onboarding review can be completed within a few business days. More complex structures, regulated activities, or higher-risk business models may require additional checks and take longer.
What types of businesses can open an account?
We work with companies that have a clear business model, transparent ownership structure, and compliant payment needs. Each application is reviewed individually in line with our risk, AML, and regulatory requirements. Some industries, jurisdictions, or business models may be subject to enhanced due diligence or may not be supported.
Can I start integrating before approval?
Yes. You may start reviewing our documentation and, where available, begin technical preparation or sandbox integration before final approval. However, live account access, payment processing, and production credentials are activated only after KYB verification, compliance approval, and completion of the required contractual steps.
Payments
Which countries and currencies are supported?
We support payment coverage across the SEPA area for euro transfers, as well as international payment capabilities through selected banking and payment partners. Card acquiring is available for Visa and Mastercard, subject to business model, market, and approval. Exact country and currency coverage is confirmed during onboarding based on your company profile and required payment flows.
How does SEPA Instant differ from standard SEPA?
SEPA Instant allows eligible euro transfers to be processed within seconds, including outside regular banking hours, where both sending and receiving banks support the scheme. Standard SEPA transfers are usually processed within normal banking timelines and may take longer depending on bank cut-off times, weekends, and public holidays.
What are the transaction limits?
Transaction limits are set individually based on your business activity, risk profile, expected volumes, and compliance review. Limits may apply per transaction, per day, or per month, and can be reviewed over time as your processing history and business needs develop.
How does settlement work?
Settlement terms depend on the payment method, currency, and agreed commercial setup. Card acquiring settlements and bank transfer settlements may follow different timelines. During onboarding, we confirm your settlement schedule, supported settlement currencies, applicable fees, and any reserve or risk-related conditions where relevant.
Compliance
Is SEPEX regulated?
Yes. SEPEX is a trading name of TBF Finance, UAB, a Lithuanian payment institution licensed and supervised by the Bank of Lithuania. TBF Finance, UAB holds Payment Institution Licence No. LB000465 and provides regulated payment services in accordance with applicable Lithuanian and EU/EEA regulatory requirements.
How is customer data protected (GDPR)?
We process personal and business data in accordance with GDPR and applicable data protection requirements. Customer information is used only for legitimate business, compliance, risk, and service-related purposes. Access to data is restricted to authorized personnel, and appropriate technical and organizational measures are applied to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
What is your AML/KYB process?
As a regulated payment institution, we apply AML, KYB, and risk-based due diligence procedures before activating an account and throughout the business relationship. This includes verifying the company, directors, beneficial owners, ownership structure, business activity, website, expected volumes, payment flows, and relevant supporting documents. Depending on the risk profile, enhanced due diligence or additional information may be required.
Technical
How do I integrate acquiring into my website or app?
You can integrate card acquiring using our documented REST API, hosted payment flow, or available ready-made plugins. The typical flow includes creating a payment, redirecting the customer to complete the payment and 3-D Secure authentication where required, and receiving the final payment status through webhook notifications.
Do you provide a sandbox and documentation?
Yes. We provide technical documentation and, where available, sandbox access for testing payment flows before going live. This allows your team to check payment creation, redirects, status updates, webhook handling, and other key integration steps in a test environment.
Do you support 3-D Secure 2?
Yes. 3-D Secure 2 is supported for eligible card payments where required by the card schemes, issuer, and transaction risk profile. It helps add an additional authentication layer while keeping the customer experience as smooth as possible. The exact authentication flow may depend on the issuing bank, card type, region, and transaction details.
